Dean Harrington
Guitar, Electric Bass, Ukulele
I’ve been teaching guitar for more than 25 years and am taking new students 7 years to adult. I’m primarily a guitarist, but I also teach ukulele, electric bass, theory and improvisation, and am glad to work with students to learn the style of music that interests them. I enjoy teaching all levels, from total beginner to advanced, and encourage anyone who has always wanted to play an instrument to give it a try — it’s fun and it’s never too late. I’m always open to discussing any questions or concerns you may have about lessons, my teaching style, how to choose an instrument, etc. Parents are encouraged and welcome to sit in on lessons anytime.
I have a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Minnesota and was a first-place winner in the Schubert Club scholarship competition. I still play classical guitar for my own enjoyment, but these days I mostly perform jazz with my own bands Dean Harrigton Trio and Mill City Hot Club and as a side-musician with several local jazz groups. I post gigs regularly on Facebook and you can check out my solo guitar work at my YouTube page below.
