Piano
Christina always knew she would grow up to become a musician. From her first piano lesson at age 5 until now, music has been her primary passion, and she is delighted to spend her professional life doing what she loves.
Christina graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2014, where she studied voice and piano performance. Since then, she has performed with opera companies and symphonies in the Midwest and across the country. She has been teaching professionally since 2010.
As a teacher, Christina believes that a good foundation in technique and theory is what allows students the freedom to explore their own musicality and creativity. She is passionate about guiding students on the path to becoming independent musicians. She loves to collaborate with her students to come up with personalized goals and practice plans each week. She also enjoys exploring new and creative ways to learn and connect to music (ask her about musical charades and Piano Land).
When she is not teaching or performing, she can generally be found outdoors (hiking, biking, kayaking, you name it) or curled up with a book (it’s a little dangerous that Music Lab is located next to a bookstore). She and her husband have a rescued border collie named Jessie and 2 cats named Kiwi and Peaches, and they also foster dogs for the Heart of a Border Collie Rescue.
