Tony Potts has been an active performer and teacher in the Twin Cities for the past seven years. The Pioneer Press described him as having “not only swagger, charm and charisma, but a baritone voice that blends beautifully...” He has worked with companies such as Minnesota Opera, Dallas Opera, Schubert Club, and Theater Latté Da. Recent roles have included Nick Shadow in the NDSU Challey School of Music Chamber Festival production of The Rake’s Progress, Harold Hill in Lyric Art’s The Music Man, Squire in Libby Larsen’s The Silver Fox with Schubert Club, Gus and Editor Daily in The Cradle Will Rock, and the baritone soloist in Loyce Houlton’s Carmina Burana with the Minnesota Dance Theater. In addition to performance, Tony maintains a teaching studio of voice students, of all levels and styles, and early piano students. Tony is a two-time finalist at the international Lotte Lenya Competition and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from University of Northwestern, St. Paul and University of North Texas, respectively.
