Charity Huot Benedict is a singer/songwriter with a background in elementary education. When her kindergarten teacher asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, her response was “a singer.” She started piano lessons at age 8, sang in choirs from elementary school throughout college, and taught herself how to play guitar at age 22. For the past 10 years she has written and performed her original music throughout the midwest and currently has two recorded albums. She has been passionate about music since a child, and wants to share that same interest with young children.
Charity graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2005. She received a degree in elementary education with an emphasis on Communication Arts and Literature, and is licensed to teach k-8. She has taught music and art at Holy Rosary School in Duluth, directed and coordinated a variety of youth programs at the YMCA , and taught kindergarten in the St. Paul Public Schools.
Charity is excited to combine her experience in both music and education and offer a fun filled community building music class for kids at The Music Lab!
