In Band Lab, students play music together in an environment that inspires creativity and fosters personal empowerment. They build confidence in their instrument and musical abilities, work together to achieve common goals, and learn all about how to have fun putting on a great live show! Each Band Lab group learns a themed set of celebrated songs from the 60s to Now in weekly rehearsals, leading up to performing live in a Music Lab Showcase out in the community at various family-friendly Twin Cities venues - An enriching experience for all ages and skill levels!
Bio
Hello! My name is Adam Wish-Werven, and I am a Minneapolis-based educator, musician, and music industry professional. I have been writing and performing music around the Twin Cities under the name Larry Wish since 2008, and have spent much of the past decade touring nationally and internationally as well as building my skills as a bandleader. My academic musical training began at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley, MN, and I have two associate degrees in audio production and graphic design from Minneapolis College where I started the indie record label Bumpy Records and music PR company Bumpy PromoDistro. I gained experience working with student musicians as a show director/instructor at School of Rock Eden Prairie. There, I led group rehearsals and directed student shows put on at various venues around the Twin Cities. I am super excited to bring this experience to Music Lab where I'll be leading the Band Lab performance program, and I am passionate about making playing music in a group fun and empowering for students of all ages and skill levels!
