Violin, Viola, Piano
Aubrey is a lifelong musician and a gifted teacher. She has been teaching and performing in the Twin Cities for nearly a decade.
Aubrey first learned that teaching was in her blood when she was pursuing her BA in music education at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. She noticed a wonderful ease and joy as she began teaching and mentoring young musicians. These days, she combines her skills in music teaching with elements of mindfulness she's gleaned from her years as a yoga teacher, providing a uniquely engaging learning experience for her students. Aubrey has a knack for identifying and cultivating her students' unique strengths, skillfully creating an exciting environment that allows each student to shine. She has an energized, patient, and frequently silly personality that students are drawn to.
Aubrey's performance experience is vast and uniquely varied. Along with performances in the Twin Cities as a violinist in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and various classical chamber groups, Aubrey has appeared as a vocalist, horn player, and pianist with the 147th Army Band, a classical singer in operas and chamber choirs, and a banjo troubadour at too many bonfires to count. Most recently she's immersed herself in studying classical sitar. Aubrey is also proud of her years of work as a case manager for people experiencing homelessness, during which she frequently used music as a way to connect with her clients, even co-founding a bluegrass group with clients that toured local homeless shelters.
